Training Positions

As part of our mission to promote the dissemination of empirically supported treatments, we train pre- and post-degree therapists. These therapists have reduced-fee spots available for clients in need.

Postdoctoral Positions:

Annually, we contract with at least one postdoctoral therapist who is interested in working in a private practice setting. The successful applicant will have prior training in, and ample experience with, evidence-based psychotherapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This is a part time contract opportunity for acquiring hours and supervision for licensure in a theoretically consistent environment. The postdoctoral therapist will acquire experience in all aspects of a private practice model including billing, record-keeping, networking, scheduling, and treatment. Participation in BCCBT consult groups is strongly encouraged. The hours and caseload are flexible, and will be negotiated during the interview process. This is NOT a formal APPIC approved program. Clinical training is primarily focused on ACT and various CBT protocols, with a heavy focus on treating mood, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Likely opportunities include intensive training in CBT for insomnia (CBT-I) and serving as co-therapist for a bipolar disorder specialty group. All supervision is provided by Licensed Psychologists who are partners at, or contract with, BCCBT. BCCBT provides substantial help with building clientele. The postdoc receives a portion of fees collected after expenses (office space and supervision) have been met.
