Training Positions

As part of our mission to promote the dissemination of empirically supported treatments, we train pre- and post-degree therapists. These therapists have reduced-fee spots available for clients in need.

Postdoctoral Incubator Program: Now Accepting Applications for 2023-2024!

Annually, we contract with one or two postdoctoral therapists who are interested in working in a private practice setting. The successful applicant will have prior training in, and ample experience with, evidence-based psychotherapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This is a private practice incubator program that will help the early-career professional:

  • acquire hours and supervision for licensure in a theoretically consistent environment

  • develop the infrastructure needed to operate a profitable private practice, including billing, communication platforms, record-keeping, and networking

  • quickly build a full-time caseload

  • integrate into a community of like-minded psychologists

  • seamlessly transition to independent practice once licensed

This is not a formal APPIC-approved program. Clinical training is primarily focused on ACT and various CBT protocols, with a heavy focus on treating mood, anxiety, and sleep disorders. The successful applicant will also complement our areas of expertise with competence in working with trauma, chronic illness, and/or couples. Likely opportunities include intensive training in CBT for insomnia and serving as co-therapist for a bipolar disorder group. All supervision and business coaching is provided by Licensed Psychologists.

The location of services will be negotiated during the application process:  postdoctoral clinicians may rent office space in our suite in Boulder, rent an office elsewhere, and/or work remotely offering telehealth services.

To apply, submit to info@bouldercbt.com (with ‘postdoc position’ in the subject line): a cover letter describing your career aspirations, clinical populations of interest, prior experience implementing behavioral therapies, and anticipated date of completion of all degree requirements; CV; your graduate school transcript; and, the names and contact information for three (3) references.
