CBT For Anxiety
Anxiety disorders are among the most common disorders, and can be very debilitating for the individuals experiencing them. Research supporting cognitive behavioral therapy, specifically exposure therapy, for anxiety disorders shows effectiveness and long-term improvements.
This group is a cost-effective way for people struggling with anxiety to decrease the power anxiety has over their lives, and consequently improve their quality of life. It is appropriate for individuals with a long standing history of anxiety, and for those with a more recent onset. It is also appropriate for people who are suffering from one or more of the following anxiety disorders: panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, specific phobia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
The group will meet for a total of 8 sessions over a 12-week period to optimize the skills acquired and troubleshoot challenges. The first 6 sessions will take place weekly; session 7 and 8 will be one month apart.
